Description

Not since the spooky little Californian town of Santa Carla has one particular place been so unforgivingly targeted by vampires. We're talking about Sunnydale, home of countless undead and setting for the adventures of one Buffy Summers - possibly the most famous of vampire slayers - both in the TV series and in the world of video games. This latest third-person beat-em-up for GameCube - the second in what is likely to be a long line of Buffy-related games - has been developed with the assistance of the show's writers and is intended to take the form of a 'lost episode' from series five. The game's story involves an unravelling tale in which a dimensional bleed has been enabled by Pure Evil to consume humanity once and for all. You won't be surprised to learn that it's once again up to Buffy and friends to stop it happening. The gameplay within Chaos Bleeds basically involves the standard mix of exploration and puzzle solving, while all along fighting off the relentless hordes of blood-suckers. Throughout the game, you take control of five of the show's favourite characters - Buffy, Angel, Willow, Xander, and Spike - each of whom possess and assortment of handy combat moves, essential for beating off the incoming foes. Key to success, as you'll probably already know, is via the trusty stake - keep them at bay with a few nifty punches and kicks, before driving it home to finish them off. As well as this though, there's also an assortment of weapons, including everything from mystical knives, swords and battleaxes to the more common or garden baseball bat. Chaos Bleeds is a faithful virtual recreation of the TV show, so if you're a fan you'll definitely enjoy immersing yourself in the vampire-ridden action.
