Description

Undeniably the best-selling board game in the world, Monopoly has been made even bigger thanks to more than a dozen virtual offerings spanning both PC and console. But it doesn't stop there, because the classic money-making challenge is going mobile for the first time on GBA. For those who don't know the basic premise of Monopoly, let us tell how the game works. Going head-to-head with up to three competitors, players are given a pre-determined sum of money with which they must buy properties by rolling the dice to land on a preferred spot on the playing board. As they continue to circle the virtual streets of London's most lucrative locales, they will aim to purchase a set of colour-coded properties which can then be used to expand upon, thus increasing the rental cost to those unfortunate enough to land on them. If you bankrupt the opposition, you win the game. Of course Monopoly is ultimately a game of chance when die are brought into the equation, but the ability to spend your money wisely, makes good business decisions and adapt to another player's situation can help swing the bank balance in your favour rather swiftly. And complete with multi-player gaming, that's just how it is in the GBA offering. Visually speaking, you get to negotiate the traditional Monopoly board in an isomeric fashion, and at the end of the game, you're not faced with the laborious task of clearing up the pieces and sorting the cards ready for another game. It's all classic Monopoly, but the option to customise your own game and impose handicaps makes the Monopoly experience for GBA all the more playable and enjoyable.
