Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 2 GBA

Activision's O2 division, an equivalent of EA Sports BIG, has become a huge success in the past several years. It has brought us top class extreme sports titles such as the now legendary Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series and Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer. One other title among Activision's bustling portfolio is Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 2, available for Game Boy Advance. Although Pro BMX 2 for GBA lacks the 3D finesse of its super-console counterparts, there's some appealing, something old school about its 2D scrolling approach that should be welcome with owners of the Nintendo handheld. Cycling back and forth across Pro BMX 2's great number of American locales can be fun in itself, but your real goal is to score maximum points by performing numerous tricks using the various ramps and objects scattered around each environment. Tricks include Lung Spins, Whiplashes and Steamrollers, and can generally be easily executed through subtle button and d-pad combinations. Harder tricks are rewarded with higher scores, but a combination of tricks is the ideal way to reach the top of the leader board and unlock the game's many secrets. Pro BMX 2 comes with an official license and includes world famous riders such as Ruben Alcantera, Cory Nastazio, Joe Kawalski and obviously, Mat Hoffman. This is a big game for Activision, and one that is, quite rightly, destined for a top position in the GBA charts.
