Your exploits in Dark Alliance will revolve around Baldur's Gate, a port city on the winding Chionthar River. Baldur's Gate is a place recently plagued by a growing evil. Members of the city watch have been found dead, the townsfolk are afraid to leave their homes, and unsettling rumours of a thieves' guild civil war beneath the streets runs rampant through the city's taverns. Your arrival has placed you in the middle of this cauldron of danger. You are a young hero, new to Baldur's Gate, and a freshman in the world of adventuring. You're carrying not much more than a blade and a small purse of coins and you've come to the big city to seek your fortune.
