Description
Cranium: 'The portion of the skull enclosing the brain; the braincase', according to the American Heritage Dictionary. Kabookii (alright, Kabuki if you want to spell it properly): 'A state-controlled city entertainment in Japan, popular from 1650 to 1850', according to the Crystal Reference Encyclopaedia. Put them together and you've got a slightly twisted idea of what's in store in Ubisoft's Wii adaptation of the classic board game, Cranium. In Cranium Kabookii, players use the Wii Remote to compete in a variety of minigames, puzzles, and various interactive challenges. Players also get to use an intriguing Kabookii decoder glass, which lets them view hidden messages or answers on the screen - sounds a bit like the old 'Lenslok' copy protection system from the days of the C-64 and ZX Spectrum. In any case, you'll get up to activities like spray painting the solar system onto the wall, using the Wii Remote as a hammer to get Auld Lang Syne just right and trotting off around the world to test your knowledge of flags. If your family just won't sit down to an old-fashioned board game any more, give this a whirl.
