Description
In a hangar somewhere in Nevada, a secret military avionics division has been developing the world's fastest and most manoeuvrable jets. These hi-tech models are designed to fly in and out of enemy territory with blinding speed, evading all defences to deliver highly accurate anti-personnel ordnance. 13 of these deadly warbirds have been created and kept behind a veil of secrecy. Unfortunately, a rogue commando group breached Dreamland's defences and escaped with all 13 planes. The rogues intend to sell the planes to the highest bidder, and that means anyone (i.e., terrorist organisations) can potentially get a hold of them. This must not happen, of course. As a member of the Joint Task Force Scramble Team, you are charged with pursuing the stolen planes in the special prototype Afterburner Mk X. This flying piece of hot metal can easily keep pace with the stolen jets, but is still under development and has to be constantly upgraded. The stolen planes are powerful, yes, but are not subject to upgrading as the game goes along. They are strong, but you get stronger as you progress!
