Description

EyeToy: Play caused a sensation when it launched in the UK earlier this year. It is quite simply an amazing idea, the kind of idea that makes you truly believe that Sony is rightfully atop the gaming tree. Powered by a USB camera, at no point is a joypad required. Instead, all gameplay and menu navigation is controlled via the motion-sensing camera and software set, an idea so innovative and pure, you'll squeal with delight! EyeToy: Groove is the follow-up to Play, and is a massive expansion on the music mini-game Boogie Down, found in the original outing. Albeit developed in a staggering small time period of about five months, EyeToy: Groove is a complete package and picks up the big pink baton of ultra-campness from the original perfectly. Imaging walking with your arms cocked at angles, wearing only Elvis shades, platform knee-high boots, sequinned hotpants and a huge fur coat, whistling It's Raining Men. This is not as camp as EyeToy. And it is this quintessential campness that makes such a brilliant and unmissable gaming experience. Powered by 25 licensed tracks, the concept is simple: follow the DDR-inspired timing system as best you can. The more in time you are, and the more moves you combo, the better your score. The whole point of EyeToy is to bring people together, crossing the usual boundaries of age and gaming experience. Anyone can play and, as our pals at Microsoft keep on telling us, it's good to play together. The idea is to have a bout of good, clean fun with friends and family. And EyeToy: Groove is a scream. It surreptitiously records segments of play and runs them at the end of a session - always a bonus. Granny going for it to the sound of Five is a must see indeed. The full track listing reads: Madonna - Music Kool & the Gang - Jungle Boogie The Superman Lovers - Starlight Earth Wind and Fire - Lets Groove Sister Sledge - We Are Family Jamiroquai - Deeper Underground Jamiroquai - Canned Heat Las Ketchup - The Ketchup Song Top Loader - Dancing in the Mo
