Description

Flips: Artemis Fowl contains all six of Irish author Eoin Colfer’s enormously popular Artemis Fowl books, chronicling the misadventures of Artemis Fowl II, the teenage criminal mastermind intent on acquiring money through a variety of often illegal schemes. Colfer has described the series as “Die Hard with fairies,” and the books were primarily written to appeal to those between the ages of nine and 12. In action, Flips: Artemis Fowl closely follows the experience of reading a physical book: you have to hold the DS as if it was a book, with the touch-screen to the right, and you turn the pages in the normal manner, by flipping the touch-screen with the stylus or your finger. The text is very clear (obviously there are fewer words per page than in a paper book), and is studded with extra interactive elements, such as hyperlinks which give extra information on the characters, locations and animals you read about. Artemis Fowl has “code notes” hidden in its pages: collect these and you will be able to unlock two extra stories, plus interviews with the characters and the author. Track your code note collection as well as your progress through the books, and even share a chapter with a DS-owning friend.
