Professor Layton And The Spectre's Call is the brilliant prequel game in the innovative Professor Layton series. This franchise tells the tales of the renowned puzzle master Professor Layton and his young self-appointed apprentice Luke as they tackle many mysterious that would daunt even the best of detectives. Our story tells the beginning of Professor Layton and Luke's first meeting and is the prequel to the first game in the series Professor Layton And The Curious Village by three years. The game is set in the mysterious town of Misthrally where legend tells of a ghostly guardian that protects the town in times of need which was summoned by a strange flute. The Professor decides to investigate the town of Misthrally when his old friend Clark Triton Luke's father writes him a letter detailing a malevolent spirit attacking the town at night to the tune of a flute. The Professor notices that within the letter a secret message is hidden... and so our puzzle journey begins. This game boasts over 170 brand new and riveting puzzles designed to challenge even the sharpest of minds with the puzzles gradually increasing in difficulty as you progress throughout the game. These puzzles are designed to test your number skills spatial awareness and more even throwing in tricky riddles to really get your brain cogs in motion. The Spectre's Call has also introduced three brand spanking new mini-games into the fray which will have you performing fun yet challenging tasks including guiding a fish through an obstacle course. Each beautifully drawn and animated environment you find yourself in will need to be investigated thoroughly in order to find these puzzles with movement initiated by tapping the “shoe” icon with your stylus. In fact the whole game is controlled by you tapping the touch screen of the Nintendo DS with your stylus.
